Featured Projects

From award-winning utility protection to protected area restoration, each project showcases specialized expertise, regulatory compliance, and measurable results.

Cold Weather:  Under Water Asset Armouring

Industrial
Access
Winter

The Challenge: The client's pipeline was exposed and required immediate protection to ensure long-term integrity. The work had to be completed during winter in a challenging in-stream environment.

Farlinger's Innovation: Engineered a certified Ice Platform to serve as the stable work surface for heavy equipment. Coordinated specialized dive teams and utilized 3D GPS technology for precise, underwater material placement.

Result: The project was completed safely to specifications. The utility was successfully armored, ensuring long-term asset integrity.

Dry-Docking: Edmonton Riverboat

Project Type: Dry-Docking: Edmonton Riverboat

The Challenge: Safely extract the Edmonton Riverboat (Edmonton Queen) from the North Saskatchewan River and dry-dock it for repairs. The process involved the complexity of dry-docking and subsequent re-launching.

Farlinger's Approach: Mobilized specialized equipment to excavate a temporary dry dock. Executed a complex air-bag maneuver to roll the vessel onto the blocking. Ensured robust environmental standards with bank stabilization and post-project hydro-seeding.

Result: The project was completed within the tight timeline. Complex simultaneous services and environmental standards were expertly managed.

Intake Restoration: Water Treatment Plant

Infrastructure
Fluid Management
Access

The Challenge: Raw water intake structure was clogged by sand build-up, disrupting water flow to the treatment facility. The Client needed the dredging work completed before ice was present on the river.

Farlinger's Solution: Installed temporary Aqua Dams (inflatable cofferdams) for water isolation. Utilized rig matting to maintain environmental practices and minimize ground disturbance. Removed enough river sediment to allow the intake structure to be put back into service as soon as possible.

Result: Successfully completed the project within the tight timeline. Work was executed within a precarious and environmentally sensitive area.
